Is your student interested in the Practical Nursing Program

Tennessee Technology Center at Harriman fully supports students who are interested in the nursing field. We strongly recommend that interested students take classes in math and health science during high school.

They can also log on to www.testprepreview.com/nursing_practice.htm for practice material. There are links at the bottom of the web page which will give quizzes over their choice of topics. Students should pay particular attention to “Essential Math Skills” or “Reading Comprehension Skills”.

Students may also prepare by taking a certified nursing assistant class during their senior year (See Dual Enrollment) or immediately after graduation. This provides valuable experience and will help them decide if a career in nursing is right for them. It is important that they know the requirements for admission into the Practical Nursing program prior to graduation.

They can log on to our web site to get the information under the Practical Nursing Program.

Additionally the Nurse Entrance Test (NET) is required prior to admission into the program. There is a NET Study Guide available at www.eriworld.com for students who want to prepare for the NET. TTC Harriman gives the NET regularly. Call for the next scheduled NET dates.
