Students Compete at National Skills USA Competitions

National Skills USA 2009

We are very proud of all our Skills USA competitors at all the different levels starting with school-level, state-level, and national-level competitions. It takes courage, confidence, dedication, and ability to compete in SkillsUSA championships. Every competitor is a champion.

As our students progressed through the levels this school year, we had 5 students competing at national-level in Kansas City, MO. All of the students were outstanding competitors and fine representatives of Tennessee Technology Center at Harriman.

We have 2 bronze medalists, Karen Gilmer and Brett Patterson who competed in the Website design contest, and 3 finishers in the top 25 in the nation!

Gail Powers-Helton, competing in the job interview competition, and Melissa Chatman, competing in the professional bulletin board competition, also served as delegates for Tennessee at the National Convention.

Preston Chappel competed at the secondary level in diesel technology.
