Computer Information Technology
The Computer Information Technology program enables a student to become familiar with all aspects of personal computers and networking: how they work, how they process data, and how to apply its functions to solutions of personal, business, and industrial problems. Students entering the program must choose whether to pursue Computer Information Technology (CIT) or Computer Information Systems (CIS).
Students choosing the CIT path prepare for CompTIA certifications: A+, Network+, and Security+.
Students choosing the CIS path prepare for CIW web-based certifications: CIW Web Foundations Associate and CIW Web Design Professional or CIW Web Development Professional.
The mission of the program is to provide technical instruction and skill development to enable students to enter employment in the field of computer repair/maintenance, networking, or web design or development.
