Skills USA Chattanooga Competition

Gold-medal winners from Tennessee Technology Center of Harriman's diesel-powered equipment technology and cosmetology programs during the annual Tennessee Association of Skills USA 2007 Championship Conference in Chattanooga will compete at the Skills USA National Championships June 25-29 in Kansas City, MO. Tennessee Technology Center at Harriman won the annual James D. King Award for a compilation of the highest overall scores and participation in the state level competition.

Michael Brashears of Wartburg - Gold medal in the postsecondary Diesel Equipment Technology category.

Paul Garrett of Sweetwater - Silver medal in the postsecondary Diesel Equipment Technology Category.

Thomas Shaver of Clarkrange - Gold medal for his score in Related Technical Math.

Calvin Brown of Petros, a dual-enrolled high school senior and a diesel student at Harriman - Gold medal in the state-level competition with other high school students in the secondary Diesel Equipment Category.

Tommie Sue Woodby of Wartburg - Gold medal in the postsecondary Job Skills Demonstration for the center's cosmetology program.

Also competing were Julia Davis in the Cosmetology category and Chasity Bruglio in the Job Interviewing category.


Rotary Club Presentation

Kiwanis Club Presentation

Tommie Sue Woodby of Wartburg, spoke at the Kiwanis Club of Roane County meeting Wednesday 6/13/07. Her presentation was in preparation for the National Competition for Skills USA as a representative of the Tennessee Technology Center at Harriman's Cosmetology Class.
